Assignment 11: Web 2.0 Apps

Web 2.0 Tool: Grooveshark
grooveshark.com
Grooveshark is a Web 2.0 tool that you can use to stream music online.  It runs similarly to iTunes, in that you can search for almost any song, artist, or album, and it will come up with everything that matches it.  After selecting the song, it will appear at the bottom of the screen, along with any album art.

Grooveshark can often be used to:
·      Create a playlist of your personal favorites
·      Listen to an album before you buy it
·      Share your favorite songs to Facebook, Twitter, or other social networks

Having an account on Grooveshark isn’t necessary, but is required if you want to save your playlists or settings.

Sharing to all of your social networks is easy.  All you need to do is sign in using Facebook or Twitter, and all your songs will be saved, and you can share them to friends.

Once you’ve created a playlist of your favorite songs, you can play, shuffle, or if you don’t feel like choosing, you can simply turn on the radio, and let the genre of your choice play for you.  And the best part about it is, there are no addons, commercials, and its completely free.
